BIM design (Revit)

We design in BIM. Not instead of the design — before the clash on site

We model electrical and ELV systems in Autodesk Revit: containment, switchboards, luminaires and equipment. We coordinate with architecture, structure and mechanical, and close clashes on the CDE — before anyone cuts a slab.

Scope

What the design covers

  • Revit model of the electrical discipline: LV switchboards (size, level, code), cable trays, ladders and conduits, general, emergency and escape lighting with power and circuit parameters
  • UPS, generator, ATS, transformer — as devices with power; earthing and lightning protection as the main routes
  • ELV in a separate workset or file: fire alarm, voice alarm, intruder alarm, access control, CCTV, racks — with a containment separation rule
  • Openings and reservations for structure and mechanical — clash: slab–tray, shaft–duct, switchroom–structure
  • Working on the architect's coordination model (linked, not copied) and on the project CDE: Autodesk Docs / BIM 360 or the client's platform
  • Electrical BEP: the client's Revit version, shared coordinates, file and workset naming, LOD per stage, clash schedule
  • Clash report (Navisworks / Revit): number, view, discipline, status — only clashes that cost money on site
  • Schedules from model parameters: luminaires, switchboards, containment lengths — for bills of quantities and tender
  • Issue: PDF sheets from the model, DWG plans, discipline IFC; RVT where the contract provides for it
  • Conventional documentation outside the model: single-line diagrams, calculations, DSO connection conditions, expert approvals

Why Eko Elprom

What the client gains

Fewer clashes on site

Containment, switchrooms and shafts checked against structure and ventilation in the model — not while cutting the slab.

BIM where it makes sense

A model when the architecture is in Revit or the building cannot afford clashes (airport, data centre, hospital). DSO networks and simple revisions — in 2D, no surcharge for "blocks".

A proven coordination rhythm

Old Market Square in Poznań — documentation entirely in BIM with a CDE platform; the same cycle runs on the Wrocław terminal and CMGO at Kraków Airport.

The contractor does not need Revit

They receive PDF, DWG and IFC. Unrestricted licences and the designer's liability stay with the person, not the model.

Process

From first sketch to handover

One lead designer at every stage. Cross-discipline coordination, approvals with distribution system operators and utilities, presence on site.

FAQ

Client questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often when quoting this type of project.

No. We use BIM when there is an architectural model or when the building requires it — airports, data centres, hospitals, design & build with a CDE. Power networks, DSO connections and some revisions stay in 2D.
No. The contractor receives PDF sheets from the model, DWG plans and IFC. We hand over the RVT file when the client holds a licence and the project BEP provides for it.
In practice: concept LOD 200 (power zones, switchrooms, containment corridors), building permit design LOD 300 (main routes, switchboards as volumes, luminaires with power), detailed design LOD 350 (filled containment, equipment with parameters, openings for structure). We do not model bolts or cable labels.
No. Single-line diagrams, calculations, the power balance, connection conditions and expert approvals live outside the model, in conventional documentation. The model provides geometry, coordination and schedules.
The client's or lead designer's version — agreed in the BEP at the start, together with units, the shared base point and file naming.
